We have taken 2 cottage holidays a year for the past 10 years. Always look for the better quality cottages, but this is one of the best yet. We appreciated the extras which we do not normally see - no charge for the dog, everything included, towels, linen, electricity etc. Excellent value for money. Plenty of space. Just wonderful!
A very enjoyable (3rd) time! Feels like our second home. We find new things to do each time we come. Even when it's raining it's better than working!
August 2008
Thanks for a great time - we wish we could have stayed longer. We plan to return!
Enjoyed our 3rd Summer holiday in a very comfortable cottage despite the changeable weather. Good time to "chill out" and the children enjoyed running around the cottage. Many thanks to Maureen and Gary. Hope to return next year.

Very peaceful, relaxing and tranquil setting... which felt as if we really were in the middle of nowhere, even though local amenities aren't that far away. Has been the perfect place to stay for exploring Cornwall and would highly recommend it to anyone !
One of the nicest cottages we've stayed in, well equipped and well looked after
August 2006
This place is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. I cannot believe what we have managed to see whilst we've been here :- Padstow and Rock, Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac, Newquay. We have surfed Polzeath, Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach. We visited the Eden project twice! All this within a 25 mile radius. We must come back there is still so much to do. Beautiful, peaceful & quiet part of the world even for those used to rolling countryside. "Swallows Nest" is a lovely old stone cottage with all the character but with fantastic facilities and space. Superb to return to a log fire- perfect for those cold winter evenings. Relax within minutes of arriving! If you choose the Trehellas House option you will not be disappointed ............The setting and menu comprising locally sourced fayre contributed to a gastronomic experience of the highest quality. One of the many wonderful memories which we will keep with us for many years to come. Thank You! [These guest stayed on a "Relax and Recharge" break which includes a 3 course meal and transportation to the Trehellas House Restaurant.]

The cottage more than matched up to the expectations we had after visiting your website. It was clean, well presented and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Swallows Nest was all we could wish for and more. The cottage is very well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The cream tea was delicious and the flowers a nice touch.......looking forward to our next visit.
I was a late arrival to the cottage & to be honest it took my breath away, it was your quintessential country cottage dream. After having had 6 months of very bad health it was just what the doctor ordered. Can't wait to bring my family and two dogs here.
September 2005

A fabulous holiday. Great beaches & rock pools. Loved Heligan and Eden - a real inspiration. Swallow's Nest was a charming and peaceful place to stay. We loved seeing the Barn Owl and looking after Bubble and Domino [Guinea Pigs] Thank you.
My first time in Cornwall and what a way to spend it - a luxury cottage and gorgeous weather. The outside space was great...........you did everything to make us feel welcome and it was great. Thanks for everything. [An 11 year old guest] A great holiday! [her 9 year old sister adds!]
The cottage was as described by Adrian and Liz [See Easter comment below] - even better than we imagined. Lovely holiday - weather could have been kinder but we managed to visit Eden and Heligan as planned. Enjoyed cycle ride on Camel Trail & visit to Lappa Valley..... Thanks for welcoming touch - scones and flowers. Hope to visit again sometime.
June 2005
A week just wasn't enough to explore the amazing countryside and coastline. We had a wonderful holiday and Swallow's Nest was the perfect place to come home to at the end of a busy day. Thanks for your hospitality - having everything included was a big bonus! Perhaps an A4 detailed map of the immediate area would help to orientate one. [Point taken - laminated map now in each cottage!] A party from South Africa.
Swallows Nest is a special place - peace, quiet, space. And Cottage lovely to see at journey's end. Weather was a bonus - thanks for ordering that Maureen. Website and info does exactly what it says on the tin (well done Gary!)......Will certainly recommend and dream of coming back. Thank you and good luck!
Very happy to have found such a wonderful location far from the "madding crowd" and yet with easy access for coastline and county walks. Swallows Nest surpassed our expectations. Thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome.

Would happily recommend Colesent to Family and Friends - an excellent find! These clients followed up with a thank-you letter and said:- Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our week in Swallows Nest Cottage.........cream tea on arrival was wonderful......several of us have become hooked on Clotted Cream! Might even see you again later in the year! And they did....... Stayed for another week in July bringing parents this time! See July comment above.
Autumn/Winter04/05
We've had a lovely week. The Cottage is lovely and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The Children think this place is wonderful, a real paradise!! Thanks for a great holiday" We had a bit of a storm in the middle of the week and the Grandma wrote:- Nothing more to add except throughout the awful gales the cottage was warm and cosy.
What a find, Swallows nest is comfortable, spotless and surrounded by the most wonderful countryside..........had a lovely short break.........we hope to return one day with more time to sight see and cycle the Camel Trail.
This is the loveliest cottage we have stayed in. Thoughtfully furnished and equipped - Home from home. The Cream Tea and Christmas Hamper was a lovely welcome"
Summer 2004
We came on holiday with my nanny and Grandad. Their were 7 of us and we still had loads of room & space in Swallows nest. We found it hard to decide which beach to go to as my little sister likes paddling in small pools, me and my other sister like body-boarding and the 4 grown ups like sunbathing. Trebarwith Strand has all of these 3 things. Its a quiet Cove but its still fine if you are a big family or a couple. [This guest was 12 years old when this was written!]
